The International Symposium on Film Education, which was held last year as an extension of the TIFF Teens Film Workshop, a filmmaking workshop for junior high school students that is part of the Youth section, will be held again this year, entitled “International Symposium on Film Education 2024: Children around the world are waiting for film – Film education that confronts social issues.” Panelists from Palestine, Chile and Spain will discuss how film education contributes to society in the midst of social problems such as war, poverty, and refugees. We will hear about case studies from different countries and discuss the possibilities for film education.
