Fukushima Hamadori as Seen with Béla Tarr

The “Fukushima Hamadori Film Arts and Culture Project” is an initiative of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to create new attractions in Hamadori, Fukushima Prefecture. Last year, as part of this project, the Hungarian master “Tarr Béla,” who taught a master class as part of the Artist-in-Residence Program (where artists stay for a certain period of time in 12 municipalities in Fukushima Prefecture that were subject to evacuation orders, etc., and receive support for the producing of artistic works in the fields of film, theater, contemporary art, etc.), was invited to present a special screening of the students’ works and a video recording of the master class “Excerpt: FUKUSHIMA with BÉLA TARR” by Oda Kaori. The program will feature a Special Talk Event and screening of the students’ works as well as a video recording of the master class by director Oda Kaori.
